有公路干线自风山市经此，通屏东县的旗山镇等地，是台湾新兴佛教名区，寺院建筑及佛像规模均以雄伟庄严见称。
为台湾佛学研究中心。
寺内有露天接引佛立像高达20米，另有小接引佛480尊环立其下。
此外。
有：大雄宝殿、大智殿、印度式“朝山会馆”、佛堂等，以及接待游客食宿等各种附属建筑，其规模均为台湾各寺所不及。
